Reflections on motherhood and care work; invisible and undervalued in our contemporary society, increasingly individualistic, less groupal.

Motherhood is exhausting in every way, you disappear as a person and, in addition to being exhausted, you have to fight to make yourself visible as a human, and not just as a domestic service worker, without being noticed by the world that used to be your world.

I think I’ve never been so invisible.

Life goes on without you, life does not understand that you are a mother, life continues to have deadlines, inescapable dates, you take it or leave it.

Life goes on just, exactly the same, as you left it before you became a mother. It is just as vanishing.
