Sahara is a woman name
The Saharawi refugee camps, among the longest in the world, began to be established in 1976, after the bombing of the Saharawi population in Western Sahara with white phosphorus and napalm.
They are located in the Algerian Hamada, the most barren and arduous area of the Sahara desert. The living conditions in the camps, without freedom of movement and absolute scarcity, are subhuman.
Identity is a determining factor when talking about the Saharawi people.
Women face these problems especially because, as in many places in the world, gender issues, simply because they are born women.
